
UNFPA is excited to announce the opening of its Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Prevention and Response Internship for 2025. This internship provides a valuable opportunity for individuals passionate about gender equality and women’s rights to gain practical experience in supporting vital programs aimed at preventing and responding to GBV.

Interns will work closely with experienced professionals, contributing to research, program development, and advocacy efforts that empower survivors and promote safe environments. This position is ideal for those looking to make a meaningful impact in the field of sexual and reproductive health and rights.
Qualifying for an Internship
All interns must meet the following educational and other eligibility requirements:
Educational requirements
Be enrolled in a postgraduate degree of master’s programme;
Other eligibility requirements
- Demonstrate interest in the field of development;
- Demonstrate written and spoken proficiency in at least one of the working languages of the United Nations (English) and fluency in the official language (English) of the UNFPA office; and
- Demonstrate ability to adapt to new environments and to establish and maintain good working relations with individuals of different cultural backgrounds.
Your Education:
A Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Gender and Women studies, Development Studies, Social Science or be enrolled in a postgraduate degree of master’s programme in the above-mentioned.
Your Experiences:
- Some experience in working with development agencies, including in volunteer capacity.
- Previous experience of working in GBV prevention and response.
- Excellent track record in supporting local and INGOs and/or government institutions in the areas of GBV prevention and response, M&E and coordination.
- Fluency in English. Knowledge of other languages is an asset.
- Strong analytical and writing skills.
