The internship will take place at UNICEF’s European Partnerships Office, where two interns will support the EU Institutions Section in the areas of Development, Policy & Advocacy, and Humanitarian Affairs. About the Internship
The Public Partnerships Division plays a vital role in strengthening UNICEF’s partnerships with governments and public institutions. Interns will work alongside experienced staff members to assist in partnership development, policy analysis, and advocacy initiatives.
Their responsibilities will include monitoring EU development and humanitarian policies, preparing analytical briefs, supporting strategic engagement in areas like health, nutrition, education, migration, and aid, as well as organizing high-level meetings and events.
Interns will also be involved in data gathering and analysis, communications, and knowledge management, ensuring UNICEF’s work aligns with the EU’s evolving political priorities. This experience offers a unique opportunity to gain a deep understanding of how global advocacy for children’s welfare operates within the European context.
Who Can Apply?
Applicants must hold a graduate degree (Master’s or PhD) in a relevant field such as human rights, political science, international relations, economics, or development studies. Recent graduates—up to two years post-completion—are also eligible. Strong analytical, research, and writing skills are essential, along with a demonstrated interest in children’s rights and UNICEF’s mission.

A good command of English is required, and knowledge of French or another EU language is an asset. Candidates must be eligible to live in Belgium for the duration of the internship, as UNICEF does not provide visa or residence permit assistance.
