Purpose of the Internship

Key Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Education Specialist and guided by the Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation Manager, the intern will contribute to evidence generation and policy advocacy. Responsibilities include:
- Conducting literature reviews on financing education in Africa, with an emphasis on free education.
- Reviewing and finalizing the Draft Free Education Report for Namibia.
- Drafting a policy brief on free education tailored for Parliament discussions.
- Preparing a PowerPoint presentation based on the report, designed for use by the Minister of Education to engage Cabinet and stakeholders.
These outputs will directly contribute to shaping national policy and promoting equity and quality in Namibia’s education system.
Who Can Apply?
To qualify for this internship, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Education: A recent graduate in economics, education, public policy, statistics, finance, or related fields. Strong academic performance is essential.
- Experience & Skills:
- Knowledge of Namibia’s education system.
- Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint and statistical analysis.
- Experience in education budget analysis is an asset.
- Eligibility: Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old and must not have close relatives employed by UNICEF.
- Languages: Fluency in English is required; knowledge of local languages is an added advantage.
