The International Labour Organization (ILO), Geneva Is Hiring A Document Production Assistant

The International Labour Organization (ILO) is currently inviting applications for the position of Document Production Assistant – G5 (DC) within the International Social Security Association (ISSA), located in Geneva, Switzerland.

This is a fixed-term contract of 12 months, renewable for up to three consecutive years depending on performance, organizational needs, and funding availability. The application deadline is 20 October 2025 (midnight Geneva time).

About the ISSA

The International Social Security Association (ISSA) is the world’s leading international organization for social security institutions, government departments, and agencies. The organization promotes excellence in social security administration through knowledge-sharing, professional standards, and innovation.

This position is based within the Member Services and Promotion (MSP) Branch, which manages communications, publications, member engagement, and events for ISSA. The selected candidate will report directly to the Director of MSP and play a key role in the production, formatting, and quality control of official ISSA publications and events.

Key Responsibilities

The Document Production Assistant will:

  • Manage translation and interpretation requests, ensuring timely coordination between translators and internal teams.
  • Maintain and update the ISSA’s text and terminology databases.
  • Assist with document production, including formatting, proofreading, and finalizing official reports and publications.
  • Provide logistical and technical support for online events, such as booking interpreters, onboarding participants, and managing multimedia elements during live sessions.
  • Ensure consistency in formatting and branding across multilingual documents and assist in compiling final publications for the ISSA website.

  • Handle document layout, graphics, and pre-production checks using desktop publishing tools and ISSA style guidelines.

Required Qualifications

Education: Completion of secondary school education is required. Additional certification in terminology, editing, or document production will be an advantage.

Experience: Applicants must have at least five years of relevant professional experience, preferably in documentation, translation services, or communications support.

Languages: Excellent command of English and a working knowledge of French or Spanish is required. Knowledge of an additional ISSA working language (German, French, or Spanish) is desirable.

  • Familiarity with translation tools, online event platforms, and database management.

Employment and Application Details

The annual salary for this G5 position is 79,366 CHF. Candidates must have valid residency status in Switzerland or currently reside in neighboring France.
