Empowering Every Child Through Knowledge
UNICEF operates in over 190 countries and territories, working tirelessly to protect children’s rights, ensure access to education, healthcare, and protection, and create a world where every child can reach their full potential. In Namibia, UNICEF partners with the Government, civil society, and communities to address inequalities and support marginalized children through its 2025–2029 Country Programme.

The Learning, Protection, and Participation Programme in Namibia focuses on early childhood development, education accessibility, adolescent engagement, and protection services. The selected intern will play a vital role in strengthening UNICEF’s knowledge management systems, research initiatives, and policy development processes that directly impact children’s lives.

Key Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Deputy Representative and guidance from the Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation (PME) Manager, the intern will:

  • Support the development of knowledge products such as reports, briefs, and content for internal and external dissemination.
  • Contribute to the monitoring of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and assist in organizing virtual knowledge-sharing events.
  • Assist in research, data collection, visualization, and report writing to inform UNICEF Namibia’s strategic work.
  • Help maintain organized databases of partners, research materials, and project resources.

This internship provides valuable learning experiences, including exposure to UNICEF’s country operations, participation in professional development activities, and personalized coaching sessions with senior staff.

Eligibility and Requirements
Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old and either currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in economics, public policy, international relations, social sciences, education, communication, public health, or related fields.

Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical, writing, and communication skills, with prior experience in research or content drafting considered an asset. Fluency in English is required, while knowledge of a local language is an advantage.
