The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has officially opened registration for the 2025–2026 government scholarship programmes, inviting Qatari students who have successfully completed their high school diploma, as well as other eligible groups, to apply. This initiative provides an exceptional opportunity for students to pursue higher education through world-class academic institutions both in Qatar and abroad.
This year’s scholarship plan includes three main programmes — the Amiri Scholarship Programme, the Abroad Scholarship Programme, and the Local Scholarship Programme, which also includes the Tomouh Program. Each of these initiatives is designed to support students at different academic levels and expand their professional and intellectual horizons by offering access to diverse fields of study.
Among these, the Amiri Scholarship Programme stands out as one of the most prestigious educational opportunities available to Qatari students. It targets those who have achieved the highest grades in high school, granting them scholarships to study at 24 of the world’s top-ranking universities, as well as five leading universities within Qatar that are on the Ministry’s approved list.
The program focuses on disciplines of national importance, such as medicine and engineering, aiming to strengthen Qatar’s human capital and contribute to the country’s sustainable development goals.
In addition to these opportunities, the Ministry has also launched a special programme for the top ten students in both the science and humanities tracks, as well as those excelling in specialized academic tracks. This exclusive programme provides extra benefits and privileges to reward academic excellence and encourage students to maintain their high performance throughout their university studies.
The government’s scholarship framework reflects Qatar’s ongoing commitment to nurturing a new generation of talented citizens equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to drive innovation, leadership, and growth. Whether studying locally or abroad, scholarship recipients are expected to bring back their expertise to serve the nation’s strategic priorities in education, health, technology, and beyond.
