Some of UNOPS Zambia’s notable interventions include the construction of six medical oxygen production plants and the rollout of biomedical waste incinerators, which are essential in improving infection control and strengthening the health system.
In the energy sector, the Zambia Distributed Renewable Energy (DRE) Systems Project is expanding energy access for critical public institutions, supporting the nation’s transition toward a sustainable and diversified power sector. Additionally, UNOPS supports the Zambia Environmental Management Agency (ZEMA) through the procurement and management of laboratory and ICT equipment to bolster environmental governance.
Role Overview: Procurement Senior Assistant
The Procurement Senior Assistant will play a key administrative role in managing procurement and contracting activities related to goods, services, and works for the business unit. Under the supervision of the Procurement Manager and guidance of the Head of Support Services, the successful candidate will ensure smooth implementation of procurement processes while upholding UNOPS rules, regulations, and ethical standards.
The responsibilities include:
- Providing administrative and logistical support in the execution of procurement activities.
- Ensuring full compliance with UNOPS procurement policies and procedures.
- Supporting the preparation and management of contracts and purchase orders.
- Maintaining accurate procurement documentation and records.
- Assisting in vendor evaluation and monitoring of contract performance.

Education and Requirements
Applicants must have completed secondary school education. A university degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or related fields is an advantage.
